About Tara Almond
Tara Almond is a writer, page designer, and exotic condiment collector who enjoys photography in her spare time. She was grown organically and harvested from the fertile soil of the Magic Skagit Valley.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in journalism and a minor in economics from Western Washington University in 2006. After graduating, she worked for 7 years as a reporter and editor for a small community newspaper on the U.S./Canadian border. She has written for publications including The Northern Light, Mount Baker Experience, Cascadia Weekly, Business Pulse, Bellingham On Tap, Bellingham Alive, and The Seattle Times.
Since then she found several creative ways to use those journalism skills from writing corporate radio ads to taking wedding photography, golf ball diving, and working as a legislative aide in Olympia. In 2016 she returned to school and completed a degree in graphic design from Whatcom Community College where she graduated with honors. She is former chair of 40th District Democrats and owner and operator of Taradactyl Design, specializing in political campaign signs and literature, press release writing and media consulting services.
She lives with her Rex house rabbit, Bunnysaurus Rex, who enjoys chewing and destroying all her belongings, and her wiener dog, Wonder Wiener, who enjoys chasing the ball and defending her home from UPS delivery drivers.
